The structure of piano is complex, and there are more than ten thousand internal parts. Some minor changes will affect the quality of piano. Therefore, daily maintenance is the key to the life of piano. If the piano is not properly maintained, its life will be greatly shortened. What are the contents of piano maintenance? Take Harold's piano as an example to explain all aspects of piano maintenance.
Piano shell, stringer and keyboard and other major components use a large number of solid wood, felt, wool and metal parts, these materials are very sensitive to temperature changes, so the relative humidity of the room should be kept at 40% - 70%.
If the ambient humidity is too high or rainy, desiccants or damp-proof pipes should be placed in the piano to avoid damp expansion, deformation or rust of the parts; if the environment is too dry, water basins can be placed in the piano room, through the natural evaporation of water to maintain the appropriate humidity in the piano, so as to avoid the deformation of parts due to drying shrinkage or the bursting of paint film.
When playing, you should clean your hands, open the cover gently, nails should not be too long, don't play random scratches on the keyboard, and don't hit the keys too hard, so as to avoid damaging the internal parts.
When pedaling, don't push too hard or too hard. Do not put sundries on the keyboard, so as not to fall into the cracks, causing the failure of keyboard machinery and other machinery, and do not put hot water utensils on the piano, in order to prevent the piano surface paint burnt or sprinkled into the piano caused internal rust.
It is forbidden to place rubber and plastics on piano for a long time.
After the piano is used, all the piano covers should be closed and properly covered to prevent dust intrusion. Dust will affect the flexibility of the stringer system and produce murmur.
Wipe the surface: First remove the dust on the piano surface with a soft brush (brush). This prevents large particles of dust from scratching the paint surface when wiping. Use soft cotton cloth (avoid using coarse fibre products such as towels to prevent scratches on the paint surface when wiping), and wipe the paint surface (wet soft cotton cloth should be used to wipe the matte paint surface);
Wipe the keyboard: Keyboard should be cleaned regularly. When wiping the key surface, use dry soft cotton cloth, wipe it from the inside (frame direction) to the outside (lock direction), not horizontally. If it is difficult to wipe the stains, you can use a soft cloth with a little toothpaste, soap water or polish liquid to wipe. Do not use alcohol-containing detergent to prevent the keys from bursting. But you can't wipe the shell in the same way.
In order to maintain the best performance of a good piano, besides proper maintenance, generally speaking, the piano must be tuned once or twice a year. If it is not adjusted for too long, it will easily cause permanent wear and tear of the parts, or affect the structure due to the concentrated increase of the tension of the strings in the next tuning. In order to avoid damage to the piano, it is necessary to employ professionals who hold the attorney to adjust and arrange the piano.
